🤔 BEST TIME TO TRAVEL TO CADAQUÉS
The best time to visit this area is May, June, and September. These months offer pleasant temperatures and are not overrun with tourists.
✔ WHAT TO DO IN CADAQUÉS
The best thing to do in Cadaqués is to wander through its cobbled streets and enjoy the tranquility of the sunset at the port. Climb up to the Church of Santa María de Cadaqués, at the highest point of the village, and admire the views of the Mediterranean from there. Visit the Salvador Dalí House-Museum in Portlligat. Stroll along the seafront promenade and be amazed by the beauty of the scenery before you. Discover the Cap de Creus Natural Park and take one of the hiking trails in the area, and admire the beauty of the Cap de Creus lighthouse.
🌮 YOU CAN'T LEAVE CADAQUÉS WITHOUT TRYING
Cadaqués boasts four culinary delights: sea urchins (“grotes”) in winter, rock mussels in spring, crustaceans like lobster and European lobster in summer, and, of course, wine in autumn. Try the catch of the day and their famous fish stew, suquet de peix .
👁🗨 CURIOSITIES OF CADAQUÉS
It's the first town on the peninsula to receive the sun's rays. Cadaqués is the easternmost town on the Iberian Peninsula, so it gets the first rays of sunlight every morning. Dalí, an eccentric artist if ever there was one, had a pane of glass in his room in Portlligat (a cove in Cadaqués where he lived) so he could be the first person to see the sun's rays each morning.
4 MUST-SEE PLACES IN CADAQUÉS
1. A perfectly preserved fishing village where white houses and narrow stone streets full of plants and flowers stand out, making it a wonderful place to get lost among art galleries and beautiful shops.
2. With famous coves and beaches, with their fishing boats, where the crystal clear waters stand out, perfect for snorkeling or diving.
3. Hike part of the coastal path and enjoy incredible views and spectacular cliffside scenery. I recommend a walking route along the old road from Cadaqués to the Cap de Creus lighthouse.
4. Climb up to the Church of Santa María to enjoy the views of the village. Wander aimlessly, delighting in the mix of colors, which seem straight out of a painting, the aromas, and the charming corners you'll discover every minute.
Salvador Dalí said it's the most beautiful town in the world. What do you think?
Plan a trip around the peninsula to visit this and other places. Don't forget to mark it on your Woody Map Natural Spain .
